Buried cable banner

Directly buried fiber optic cable (without the use of conduits) must have an excellent mechanical resistance against external factors, as they lack the additional protection provided by conduits, being therefore more exposed to rodents, water, etc.

TELNET uses corrugated steel tape for buried cables in order to provide the highest protection against rodents and mechanical impacts. On top, to protect the cable against water penetration, places waterblocking tapes, which have impregnated water swellable powder. This powder, when in contact with water, becomes jelly, blocking the liquid and keeping the cable dry. In this way, it prevents the water from arriving to splice areas, where the fiber is more exposed.

For locations such as tunnels and galleries, where the cables can be laid without additional protection, TELNET also offers LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogens) indoor cable to ensure safety in case of fire.

Having all details about the installation type and location, our engineering team designs the most suitable cables satisfying all requirements, and guaranteeing its correct behavior over its lifetime.
